Discs vs. Stamps — What's the Difference?

The extruder discs create a soap dough embed that gets added into your poured loaf — so every slice reveals a fully colored tree running all the way through the bar. The color is permanent and stays with the soap through every wash.

The stamps are surface accents pressed onto your cut, unmolded bars. They add beautiful detail and texture, but since they sit on the surface, they gradually fade with use — which is totally normal for soap stamping.

Both are gorgeous. It just depends on the effect you're going for! 🌳

How It Works — Extruder Discs

1. Load your soap dough into the Jamley Lane XL Extruder fitted with the trunk disc and extrude your trunk log
2. Switch to the tree top disc and extrude your tree top log — use a different color for a classic brown trunk + green canopy look
3. Assemble trunk and tree top, embed into your cold process loaf, and slice to reveal the tree in every bar

How It Works — Stamps

Press the tree outline stamp and/or leaf accent stamps onto your cut, unmolded bars to add fall detail to the surface. Use one leaf, scatter all four, or combine with the tree stamp for a full autumn scene. 🍁

Why the Extruder Disc Beats a Column Mold

A static tree column mold gives you one color, one size, every time — and getting a two-tone trunk-and-canopy look would require two separate molds. These two discs let you extrude each part in its own color and control exactly how long your embed runs. 🧼

Care

Hand wash all pieces with dish soap and water. Avoid soaking for long periods and air dry fully before storing. 🧽
